"Looking back, the one constant is the influence of good people with whom I was ‘networked’ and who all had my best interests at heart."
David Ellcock, Programme Director, Future-Focused Finance

Connecting people at all stages of their career through our networks means we help you to support each other.

From the very inception of FFF we wanted to harness the power of networks as a mechanism for change. In this spirit FFF has set up networks for Value Makers, Finance and Clinical Educators (FACE), Diversity, and for those wanting to make progress in their finance career.

Our networks are available for people at all stages of their career. We have 280 people in our regional senior talent management networks, including those who are part of our National Talent Pool. Since the Pool was established in 2017, 12 of its members have graduated to board level director posts and a further 10 have been promoted into other director level positions.

In 2018/19 we have set up a development programme for those working at band 8C and above who will be looking to apply for the finance leaders national talent pool in the 2019/2020 cohort. As part of our continuing support to graduates from the talent pool, we are working with Deloitte to develop bespoke transition labs to assist them in making a successful transition into their new roles as finance directors.

For those in the earlier stages of their career the future leaders network have access to a menu of learning and development opportunities.

"I would thoroughly recommend the NHS Finance Leaders National Talent pool development programme to anyone aspiring to be a Director of Finance or Chief Finance Officer. It’s not without its challenges. There’s plenty of very honest feedback and lots of hard work to do on development, but the prize in terms of improving your own leadership and contribution to our National Health Service is very worthwhile."
